The recent gathering hosted by the Young Amil Circle (YAC) was a refreshing and energetic start to what promises to be a meaningful year for the community. From planning to execution, the event came together thanks to the dedication and teamwork of the managing committee. Invitations were extended to everyone, both the committee members and the broader YAC fraternity, including those not officially part of the organizing team—ensuring that the entire community had a chance to be involved.
The turnout was encouraging, with a great mix of familiar faces and new ones. One of the best parts of the evening was an icebreaker session, thoughtfully designed to help newer members feel comfortable and connected. It created a friendly vibe right from the start and helped break down barriers between people who might not have met otherwise.
The evening wasn’t just about catching up but it was about looking forward. The team took time to share all that’s been achieved so far and, more importantly, the exciting plans lined up for the rest of the year. A roadmap was laid out, covering both ongoing initiatives and new ideas, including the upcoming clothes donation drive happening on May 11th and a tech awareness event that’s currently in the works. These efforts reflect YAC’s focus on giving back and staying relevant in a rapidly evolving world.
As the discussion turned to the future, there was a strong emphasis on getting more young people involved. The goal is to raise awareness and inspire others to be part of YAC, not just as participants, but as contributors who can help shape and strengthen the community. With collaborations like the one with RD National College expected to grow, YAC is creating more opportunities for youth engagement, learning, and leadership.
Of course, it wasn’t all serious talk. The evening had its share of fun too. Members played some stimulating and light-hearted games, which brought out lots of laughter and friendly competition. This was followed by a relaxed dinner, giving everyone a chance to unwind, connect more personally, and enjoy some great food before heading home.
What made this event particularly meaningful was how YAC used it not just as a one-off gathering but as a stepping stone for deeper community connection. Plans were discussed for more meet-and-greet sessions—both in person and online—to keep the momentum going. The idea is to build a strong, close-knit network of young Amils who care about their roots and are ready to make a difference.
Special credit goes to the leadership team that made it all happen. Ms. Rashmi Mirchandani from the Khudabadi Amil Panchayat (KAP) and YAC’s Co-Convenor, and Mr. Devesh Makhijani, YAC’s Convenor, played key roles in steering the event. They were supported by an enthusiastic team: President Mr. Sidharth Makhijani, Vice-President Mr. Raahuul Advani, General Secretary Mr. Mihir Mirchandani, Joint Secretary Mr. Garv Jhangiani, Treasurer Ms. Leisha Mansukhani, and the rest of the managing committee. Their energy and teamwork brought the event to life and set the tone for what’s ahead.
All in all, the gathering was a reminder of the power of community, shared purpose, and youth-driven leadership. It was a night of new connections, fresh ideas, and renewed commitment—and just the beginning of many good things to come.
